Showcasing Astrabound

Astrabound is an iconic Family Entertainment Centre, a show site both owned and operated by House of Play in a 13,500 Sq Ft building in Doncaster, located just 5 miles from House of Play factory. The site had its grand opening 12th March 2008.

The building had industrial trade counter planning usage and required change of use to leisure retail (D2). This was successfully achieved through the in-house skills of the staff members at House of Play.

The commercial case was proven using the interactive forecasting model written by a House of Play specialist and after 3 months of trading, turnover was within £1,000 of that predicted. The pre-opening market was targeted with a total budget allocation of merely £2,500, but resulted in excess of 25,000 visitors in the first 6 weeks of opening!

House of Play always emphasise the need for FEC's to provide an environment where children can exercise through play, whilst accompanying adult can join in the fun or sit back and relax with a drink. When Astrabound opened its doors to the public it proved to be a centre of excellence and feedback from the customers was fantastic.

There are three separate play zones, designed to provide fun and activity in a safe environment for babies, toddlers and juniors up to the age of 12 years. The play zones include a 4 lane astra slide, 6m high drop slide, giant spiral slide, ball cannons, climbing walls, ball blowers, ball showers and many, many more fun and challenging features.

Additionally there is a sports area including interactive sports walls so children can test ball skills and hand/eye co-ordination.

All House of Play customers are invited to visit Astrabound and experienced first hand the operational aspects of trading facility. If your project is likely to be located in a smaller or larger building than Astrabound, do not be concerned, the project is scalable and the visit will be equally relevant to all potential operators.
